About Divine Spark Foundation

Meet Carol

Carol Gilson, LCSW-S, is a multifaceted healer whose work is focused on the therapeutic and personal growth benefits that come from the use of psychedelic medicines. She is a leading expert in the use of ketamine in psychedelic assisted therapy, a psychotherapist and trauma specialist, and a consultant that develops training programs and treatment protocols for practitioners who use ketamine in their practice. She is the creator of Love Balm, and the founder of the Divine Spark Foundation and the Soul Sanctuary, a 508(c)(1)(a) Faith Based Organization religious, non-profit, tax exempt organization.

Carol has a Master’s of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin, with a focus on trauma and its impact on the structure of the brain and DNA expression. She is certified through the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) to participate in the MDMA Assisted Psychotherapy program.

In her therapeutic work, Carol focuses on helping her clients prepare for, and integrate psychedelic experiences, as well as facilitating Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT) sessions and has assisted in over 3,000 KAT sessions in a medical setting. She uses a blended psychotherapeutic approach based on current research including Integral Psychology, Transpersonal Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Jungian psychology, psychoanalysis, mindfulness and self-compassion practices and is a level 3 Reiki Master and Lightworker; all of which inform a sophisticated approach that is grounded in repairing and strengthening attachment, and addressing complex trauma to help clients weave the personal, interpersonal, and transpersonal aspects of their consciousness into the fabric of their lives.

Carol has vast personal experience with expanded states of consciousness: that includes over 20 years’ experience of daily meditation and has received Shacktipat from both Buddhist monks and Sufi masters. Carol has also studied Holotropic Breathwork led by Stan Grolf, and participated in many kambo, ecstatic dance, and shamanic drumming ceremonies. In her medicine assisted inner explorations, Carol has worked with teachers, mentors, shamans, underground facilitators, and guides. She identifies as a psychonaut and has had the honor of experiencing many sacred plant medicines and traditional psychedelics, along with numerous novel compounds.

Carol's passion project is The Divine Spark Foundation’s Soul Sanctuary. The foundation is now accepting tax-deductable donations to secure property near Austin Tx, and to build a facility for individuals seeking to commune with their divinity by harnessing the healing potential of expanded states of consciousness. The expanded states can be accessed either through accessing endogenous compounds, ceremonial use of using naturally derived entheogens, or through spontaneous spiritual emergence.
